How Do You Ship a MAGNATRAC RS1000?

We get a variety of sales/technical questions through the course of a week. Sometimes we assume that our website, DVD, Catalogs, etc. show pretty much all there is too know. However, we realize that’s not the case at all. No question is ever too small. Here are some recent customer questions about a MAGNATRAC RS1000 shipment.

Q: Is a MAGNATRAC RS1000 factory tested? Is it crated? Do I have to put it together?

A: All MAGNATRAC RS1000’s are factory tested for the highest quality. All grease fittings are lubed, fuel is shut off for shipping purposes, and a few other items like hydraulic handles are removed for quality assurance. An extra key and a few written instructions are attached for the customer. A MAGNATRAC is not crated, but it is shipped on a sturdy over sized pallet. 50 in. deep x 90 in. wide. Picture the inside width of a semi trailer and then 50 in. deep. A MAGNATRAC RS1000 is assembled. Any hydraulic attachment like a hydraulic front hitch, hydraulic rear hitch and power pack are all factory installed at the factory with every purchase. A backhoe is partially assembled due to the size of the pallet. (See picture above). If you buy a manual front hitch and/or manual rear hitch set-up, then those would require customer assembly. Every purchase comes with a very good manual that will explain the assembly, and as always we are here with FREE Technical Support for life with every purchase. Another words, were only a phone call away from any help that you need.

Q: How and where do you ship? To a freight/shipping depot, to my work, to my residence?

A: Generally speaking, all of the above. Usually, the cheapest option is to a freight depot and then the customer picks the unit up with a customer supplied trailer. The people at the freight depot can load up your trailer with their forklift. It’s usually best to leave the shipping pallet, shrink wrap and steel banding in place until you get home. Before leaving the shipping depot it’s always a good idea to inspect the unit. We can also ship to a business or workplace, however you would need to get permission to have a unit delivered to a business or workplace. The business or workplace would need to have a semi-height loading dock or a forklift to unload. Make sure the forklift has a high enough rating to unload the freight. Home delivery is not available in all areas, it’s based on your zipcode/postal code. Extra charges will apply for a home delivery, usually around $350. In most cases, due to the size of the shipping pallet, the RS1000 has to be delivered by a flatbed with a forklift on the rear to make the delivery. A freight truck with a liftgate is generally speaking too small. The delivery driver will lower the pallet to the ground for you.
