The MAGNATRAC RS1000 may be a compact, mini bulldozer, but don’t mistake its size for its capabilities.
Take it from one of our satisfied customers, Ron from Pioneer, California.
His first project with his new MAGNATRAC® RS1000 was to excavate hard, yellow California clay soil on a slope to prepare a level building site.
From the looks of the image he provided and the fact that he’s excavating on clay soil, you’d think that it would be challenging for Ron and his MAGNATRAC® RS1000 to excavate 36 inches deep on the high end of the slope on a 31 ft x 37 ft plot of land.
But with the MAGNATRAC® RS1000’s power and versatility to use different attachments, he was able to get the job done.
Ron hand-trenched the high end of the slope and then used his MAGNATRAC® RS1000’s hydraulic ripper bar in the rear to break the hard clay soil, allowing him to scrape, scoop easily, and stockpile dirt with the hydraulic material bucket in the front.
He said, “I removed about 30 yards of dirt, stockpiled it and then moved about 20 yards of it again as backfill. The remaining 10 yards will be dozed later to create a terrace next to the pending building”.
After excavating the site, he covered it with 20 yards of road base gravel and laid a drain pipe.
He then stacked a stone block retaining wall and backfilled the wall with 3 1/2 yards of drain rock. And as you can see from the image below, Ron and his MAGNATRAC® did an amazing job.
Ron’s project was challenging, but the RS1000 proved itself yet again.
Now that Ron has completed his project, here are his final thoughts.
“This was my first experience with the MAGNATRAC® RS1000, and I am pleased with its performance. The commercial Honda engine with low operating RPMs and the gear and pulley ratios of the drive system create a surprising amount of power. The rubber track upgrade performed flawlessly with excellent traction and no required adjustments. This small track machine is fun and easy to operate and demonstrated it is capable of tackling hard jobs”.
Aside from Ron’s high praises, he also told us that the initial reason for selecting this machine was its low center of gravity and traction, for use on the slopes of his 7 acres of Sierra Mountain Property. He added, “I look forward to its use on future projects.”
If you’re a homeowner looking to accomplish some tough projects, the MAGNATRAC® RS1000 is a perfect fit for you.
