With more than four decades under his belt as a Struck team member, Warren finally hung up his hard hat. For 42 years, his dedication to the Struck name and MAGNATRAC customers was second to none.
Warren’s career with Struck started out as a simple summer job. He worked with the company owner to organize the shop and perform miscellaneous jobs as needed. After gaining extensive knowledge through on-the-job training, he became an integral part of the Struck team. Eventually, his responsibilities lead to packing orders and painting parts. His more recent roles included Production Manager and Lead Tech Support.
As times changed, so did Warren’s job role. From full assembly of machinery to offering tech support over the phone, MAGNATRAC machines slowly began to run through his veins on a 24/7 basis. Once Warren had the full support of Struck owners, he was starring in the company videos. Take a close look over the past four decades, and you can see his hair slowly fade from back to a bright, wisdom-filled white. You might even recognize him from the large number of print ads that date all the way back to the 1970s.
When troubleshooting needed to be done during manufacturing or for customer support, Warren was an integral part of the solution. He always worked closely and efficiently with other Struck team members to find the answers and helped everyone like a close friend. As surprising as it might sound, many of our customers became his friends just by the time they spent talking with him over our support phone lines.
Will things change at Struck now that Warren isn’t working with us? Definitely. Several of our units that were produced in the early 70s and 90s (such as the MD1200, MD1600, MT1800, MT2000, and MT3000) will no longer offer live tech support. However, replacement tracks or other limited parts can still be ordered.
If you ask Warren if he misses his job, he won’t skip a beat to holler back with a resounding “No!” It’s not that he doesn’t like us — he swears that he does — but Warren has been working full-time, rarely taking vacations and always talking about retirement since the day he started working for Struck. In fact, he made it a habit of coming in on weekends just to get projects finished up so they weren’t still sitting there on Monday morning. He’s earned retirement, and by golly, he’s going to enjoy it.
There aren’t many people like Warren around anymore. His strong work ethic, dedication to organization, and laid-back attitude always meant he was getting work done right the first time, and always on time. As an instrumental piece of Struck’s quality control process, he was often responsible for training newer employees. We at the Struck corporation greatly admire his hard work and dedication…he will be sorely missed.
Congratulations on your retirement, Warren! On behalf of everyone at Struck, we wish you the very best of luck in the next chapter of your life.
We invite our team, friends, and customers to leave a message…we’ll make sure Warren sees them!
